Hi, folks!
I have mentioned this to several clients and friends recently, but my family is. making a big life change this year. We are moving away from Moncks Corner. I admit, I’m sad about it. We’ve lived here for 11 years – built our home, raised our boys, sent them to their wonderful school (Whitesville Elementary) with teachers whom I’ve befriended and love. I’m leaving neighbors and a community that I feel pretty established in – which is nerve wracking. Our sweet home with all of its windows looking out to the lake is going on the market in a week.
The good news is: the move is a local one. We are temporarily renting a property in Awendaw, very near the Marion Forest. It’s got a dock and a boat launch and is on a tidal creek. It’s built like an elevated cabin, is on 4 acres, and you have to drive past lots of goats to get there. We should be there at least a year, as we are planning to build on our acre lot in McClellanville. McClellanville is located between Georgetown and Mount Pleasant. It’s just a gorgeous, eclectic little fishing town that we have LOVED since moving to the Charleston area.
So what does this mean for LLP? Well, it means a few things. First, it means the area of my local minis will change. I used to offer them within 20 minutes of Moncks Corner, and now I will be offering them in the Awendaw/McClellanville area. There are SO MANY gorgeous areas out that way, and I can’t wait to share some of them with you. Also, being in Awendaw puts me much closer to Isle of Palms AND Georgetown/Pawleys Island/Huntington Beach. (From Awendaw, the drive time to Folly is about the same as it is from Moncks Corner.) What this means, unfortunately, is that Kiawah & Seabrook photoshoots will begin counting as “travel” photography sessions. I am excited to add northern territory to my business, though!
So, thank you to my Moncks Corner clients and friends. I hope to continue to see you as the move isn’t too far. (I do have holiday photos planned in the area, still.) And to everyone on the north side of Mount Pleasant – if you are looking for a new portrait photographer, I am excited to meet with you and introduce you to the Larissa Lord Photography experience.
And a post by me HAS to include photos, right? So here are some photos from the area we will be moving to (and later building in) this year.
