This latest photography session I’m sharing is from a family visiting Isle of Palms. This particular family was a group of It was a Mother’s Day gift, and I sent out a gift certificate so that they could present their Mom with something on the holiday. If you ever plan on doing something similar, please contact me; I’d be happy to send a gift certificate to an address you provide.
We met a little earlier in the evening to accommodate for the little guy’s bedtime, but it was perfect because there were clouds to filter some of the harshest light. Honestly, I just love how these photos turned out. The cool tones of their wardrobe (note: pinks and blues look great at the beach) complemented the sky and ocean water. And just peep those clouds floating in the sky. They were like something in an old master’s painting – almost too perfect to be true.
The only thing I was not thrilled about – and only in editing – was this GINORMOUS beach ball someone had brought out to the beach. It was in a quarter of the photos and, although I’m sure it was cool for, well, gigantic beach ball purposes — (I’m not exactly sure what specific purposes that would entail, though) — it was a visual distraction and a pain to edit around. Yes, even worse than the yellow garbage cans at every beach access.
I have had a real joy connecting with families visiting our area. Quite a few of them are midwesterners (like myself), and I do my best to make sure they get the photos they envision. (Also, that they have knock-out holiday cards when the time comes!) I’m a little behind in sharing, but trust me, there are more big family sessions like this to come.
