Folly Beach Family Photo Session

Earlier this month, I had my first family session out at Folly Beach since 2020. (Albeit, that session happened about two days before 2020 was over.) This crew was staying fairly close to the beach and decided to skip the county park crowds and use the nearest beach access instead.

We were near 7th Street, which is Folly Beach access 26. I have actually never photographed anyone in that particular location on the island, so it was fun for me.  We worked that entire beach area during high tide – which meant sharing the seawalls with some kids doing TikToks, but that was fine!  We managed some lovely shots of the flowery dunes, the seawall, and the ocean.

My sweet clients warned me that their little guy had taken the dreaded 5 minute car nap that afternoon. If you are a parent, you will recognize this immediately as Murphy’s Law. With that in mind, I didn’t push him into posing, and instead ran around with him and tried to engage him in fun ways that would get him smiling. (He was ADORABLE and so happy and easy.) As you might imagine, he eventually started to tucker out, which gave us the perfect opportunity to get some of those quieter, connected moments. He was very content in both Mom & Dad’s arms. (And ready for bath & bed by the time the sun was down.)

Even with no nap, we can make the most of your session and get some extremely dreamy images, I promise.
