In the midst of this pandemic here in Charleston, SC, I have done more family photography sessions at Isle of Palms than ever before. I think that’s because the prospect of the beach is inviting; there is always a fresh, ocean breeze and space to spread out, unlike downtown.
We have also had a summer full of afternoon and evening storms. It actually reminds me of when I first moved to the area 12 years ago. I think it rained every afternoon for weeks, and I remember telling my family that all it did was rain in Charleston. So, if you’re going to be traveling to our area any time soon, pack your rain boots! This is the Lowcountry, so when it rains, we’re wading in it!
I met a lovely family from North Carolina who were in the area on a vacation. After fretting about the weather before the session, I suggested we just stick with our plan and hopefully any rain in the area would hold off. Thankfully, it did (though I drove through some on the way home), and a bonus was lower temps for the evening.
These kiddos were so well-behaved (and so cute!). They knew just how to connect with Mom & Dad, allowing me to capture some real and beautiful moments of connection.
I’m starting to get booked up in the fall, so if you would like family photos for holiday cards and gifts, contact me soon!
