I am so behind on my blogging, everyone, but I wanted to update you on a special mini session event I’m offering in March and April. If you follow me in any capacity on Instagram and Facebook, you probably know I have a real passion for portraits. I often take portraits of my own boys. I also have a school portrait business that’s been picking up. As I continue my photography journey, I have realized that I really just want to photograph faces and expressions more often. I love the connection between the subject and viewer, but also, I am fascinated by the tiny, interesting features that makes each person’s face special. And as a parent, I know you treasure your child’s unique features, too. The dimples, the freckles, the wrinkled noses during laughter and their silly faces — it’s all worth capturing now before it changes. Because, inevitably, they will change as they grow.
I am putting together a kind of “test” mini session event this spring to gauge interest in these kinds of portraits. They are really affordable for two reasons. First, because I am holding them in my neighborhood and it requires minimal travel for me! Secondly, they are super short and sweet – ten minutes per session.
I am taking ten minutes per child, and will chat with them, directing them in a relaxed way in order to get genuine facial expressions and reactions from them. I have a very simple set up (black backdrop) — and maybe some greens because I am a plant lover. I want my photos to be soft and timeless — a true perspective of your child at this age.
If this interests you, please check out my mini sessions through my shop link. They are $35/session, with a discount for multiple siblings. It inludes digital downloads of ONE pose in color & black and white. I will have options to purchase more digitals and/or prints. The prints are matte and I will have examples there printed on styrene, which is a really awesome option.
Here are a few examples of my son. I purposely brought out his freckles because I just love them.
